🎸 Joining as special guest to open the show is the critically acclaimed Sam Morrow, bringing his signature “Concrete Country” sound to the King’s Hall stage. Known for his gritty, funk-infused take on Americana, Morrow’s soulful vocals and grease-slicked grooves have made him a mainstay on the US roots circuit. Fresh off the success of his latest record, he provides the perfect high-octane opening to a night of world-class Californian rock ‘n’ roll.
Opened in July 1913 and originally known as the East Cliff Pavilion, The King’s Hall was officially inaugurated by Princess Henry of Battenberg — the youngest daughter of Queen Victoria — who named it the King Edward VII Memorial Hall in honour of her late brother. Over a century later, it stands as one of Herne Bay’s most famous architectural landmarks, its original Edwardian features and picturesque seaside surroundings making it the community’s jewel-in-the-crown entertainment destination. Sitting right on the seafront and owned by Canterbury City Council, it remains a versatile home for live music and community events — and its great atmosphere for live music is a huge attraction for touring artists and groups. For Robert Jon & The Wreck, it’s the perfect stage: intimate enough to feel the heat of every note, historic enough to match the weight of the music.
