On Friday 9th May 2026, Rockin’ Roots Events brings this extraordinary young Australian guitarist to The Oast, Rainham, Kent for one of the most intimate shows on his entire UK tour. The talent on display will be something you will be talking about long after the night is done.
Taj Farrant — The Next Generation of Blues
There are guitar prodigies, and then there is Taj Farrant. Born in Australia, he picked up a guitar at seven after watching AC/DC live with his father — and within a few years was stopping the world in its tracks. His appearance on Australia’s Got Talent announced him to a mainstream audience, but it was the blues community that truly claimed him as their own. By his mid-teens he had shared the stage with Carlos Santana, Buddy Guy, and Joe Bonamassa, appeared at major festivals including Bluesfest, Telluride Blues & Brew, and the Big Blues Bender in Las Vegas, and became the youngest guitarist ever to be endorsed by Gibson. He has appeared on The Ellen Show and performed on Joe Bonamassa’s legendary Blues Alive at Sea cruise alongside Eric Gales and Samantha Fish.
Chapter One — A Star Already in Motion
In 2024, Taj released his debut album Chapter One — a statement of intent from an artist who plays with the kind of authority and emotional depth that most musicians spend a lifetime trying to find. The album showcases his remarkable range, blending blues, rock, and soul with a maturity that belies his age. His playing has been compared to Stevie Ray Vaughan and Gary Moore, yet it never feels derivative — there is something entirely his own in the way he bends a note, holds a phrase, and makes a guitar sing. He is currently on his Chapter One UK tour, and the room at The Oast, Rainham, Kent is one of the most intimate shows on the entire run.

The Oast, Rainham Kent — A Venue With a Story
The Oast is one of Rainham’s most iconic buildings — constructed in the early 1870s by the Wakeley Brothers, it has overlooked Rainham station for over a century. The Oast Rainham Originally built for drying hops, it was saved from sale in the 1970s and converted into a thriving community centre run entirely by volunteers. That history gives the place a character that purpose-built venues simply can’t manufacture — exposed brickwork, a sense of occasion, and the kind of intimate atmosphere that puts you right in the room with the music. The venue sits directly adjacent to Rainham Station with parking at the rear — easy to get to, easy to get home from. For a show like this, it is the perfect setting. There is also plenty of local public car parks too.
