Southeastern trains run direct from London Victoria and London Cannon Street, making it a straightforward night out from across the Medway and beyond. Parking is available at the rear of the venue. Kent has always been hop country, and oast houses are woven into the fabric of the county’s landscape — purpose-built for drying hops, their distinctive conical roofs a symbol of a rural industry that shaped this part of England for centuries. The Oast in Rainham carries that heritage in its bones, and its history runs deeper than most. Constructed in the early 1870s by the Wakeley Brothers, it has stood beside Rainham station for over 150 years — saved from sale in the 1970s and converted into a thriving community centre run entirely by volunteers. That story gives the place a character that no purpose-built venue can manufacture.
