Bromley Blues Club presents a very special double bill on Sunday 9 May 2027 — two of the UK’s most exciting acoustic blues acts sharing one intimate stage at Bromley Little Theatre.
Nothing In Rambling bring their deeply rooted, soulful take on early Delta blues, while Kaspar & Lucy deliver raw Mississippi Hill Country energy with a pedigree that stretches all the way to Clarksdale.
Sister Suzie and Andy Twyman make up Nothing In Rambling — one of the most compelling acoustic blues acts working in the UK today. Their music draws directly from the deep well of early Mississippi and Louisiana blues, paying reverent but joyful tribute to the legends who built it: Memphis Minnie, Blind Boy Fuller, and Elmore James among them.
Their live album, recorded at London’s prestigious Bush Hall and released in 2024, earned BBC Radio 2 airplay and has taken them to festivals across the UK. Sister Suzie’s vocals carry real weight — soulful, raw, and completely at home in the tradition — while Andy Twyman’s guitar work is assured, economical, and steeped in the old style. This is blues that feels lived-in, not performed.
Kaspar Berry Rapkin and Lucy Piper play Mississippi Hill Country blues — stripped back, rhythmically fierce, and rooted in soil. Lucy Piper is one of the most travelled and connected musicians on the UK blues circuit. Her father, Julian Piper, was a legendary rhythm and blues musician who spent time living and playing in Louisiana, and that inheritance runs deep. She has performed at the Juke Joint Festival in Clarksdale, Mississippi — the heartland of the blues — as well as Notodden Blues Festival in Norway and Freiburg Blues Festival in Germany.
Closer to home, Lucy has played alongside Connor Selby, Alan Glen of The Yardbirds, boogie-woogie pianist Ben Waters, and is a core member of Mississippi MacDonald’s band — four-time UK Blues Award winners. Kaspar brings equal grit to the partnership, a regular presence on the London blues circuit with a feel for the Hill Country that makes this duo something genuinely special.
Bromley Blues Club at Bromley Little Theatre is one of South London’s most characterful and intimate live performance spaces, located in the heart of Bromley town centre. With warm acoustic properties, sightlines that bring every audience member close to the action, and an atmosphere that transforms any quality performance into a genuine event, it is the perfect setting for a Blues Summit of this calibre.
This is not an arena. There is no bad seat. Every ticket puts you within touching distance of some of the finest blues musicians in Britain — and that is exactly how blues music is meant to be experienced.
