Bromley Blues Club are absolutely delighted to welcome The Boneshakers to Bromley Little Theatre on Sunday 10 October 2027. This is a genuinely special booking — a band of real international pedigree bringing Detroit soul, Muscle Shoals groove and blues-rock fire to one of our favourite venues. We can’t wait.
At the heart of The Boneshakers is guitarist Randy Jacobs — a Detroit-bred, funk-and-blues powerhouse whose credentials read like a who’s who of American music royalty. Co-founder of the seminal Was (Not Was) and co-writer of the worldwide hit Walk The Dinosaur, Randy has recorded and toured alongside BB King, Bonnie Raitt, Aretha Franklin, Buddy Guy, Bob Dylan, Stevie Wonder, Elton John and Iggy Pop — a body of work that spans decades and defies easy categorisation.
It was Bonnie Raitt herself who first coined the name “Boneshakers” while they were working together in the studio, and it stuck, because no other word quite fits.
Alongside Randy stands vocalist Jenny Langer — a force of nature in her own right. A Virginia Blues Hall of Fame inductee at just 28 years old and winner of the prestigious 2020 International Blues Challenge, Jenny brings a voice that Randy himself describes as coming from “way deep… she understands funk, blues and R&B in a way that’s hard to find.”
Blues Blast Magazine captured it perfectly: a million-dollar smile and vocals that stop rooms cold. Together, the pair ignite a chemistry on stage that feels instinctive, inevitable, and utterly electric.
Their 2022 comeback album One Foot In The Groove hit #1 on both the US Soul Blues Charts and the UK Blues Radio Charts, and their 2025 release Live To Be This broke into the Billboard Top 10 — earning them a feature in Rolling Stone Magazine along the way. This is a band at the very peak of their powers.
Live, The Boneshakers are a full-band affair — propulsive, soulful and built for the kind of intimate theatre setting that Bromley Little Theatre does so perfectly. Expect three and four-part harmonies locking in with a tight, groove-heavy rhythm section, Randy’s guitar weaving between funk-infused riffing and stinging blues leads, and Jenny Langer commanding the room from the first note to the last. As the band themselves put it: “Every song is intentional. There is no fluff.”
Bromley Blues Club at Bromley Little Theatre is one of South London’s most characterful and intimate live performance spaces, located in the heart of Bromley town centre. With warm acoustic properties, sightlines that bring every audience member close to the action, and an atmosphere that transforms any quality performance into a genuine event, it is the perfect setting for a Blues Summit of this calibre.
This is not an arena. There is no bad seat. Every ticket puts you within touching distance of some of the finest blues musicians in Britain — and that is exactly how blues music is meant to be experienced.
