Tough, Texas-style blues rock from one of Australia’s finest blues guitarists. After a packed night at The Oast in Rainham in August 2026, Ray Beadle comes back to Kent with his full electric band for a Saturday night at The Old Brewery Store, Faversham.
About Ray Beadle
There are blues guitarists, and then there is Ray Beadle. Born in Sydney in 1978, Ray picked up the guitar at nine after hearing his father play at home, and he has been playing the blues ever since. His guitar and vocal styles call up the great blues legends, but nobody could mistake him for anyone else.
His pedigree is hard to beat: a three-month residency with the house band at BB King’s Blues Club in Memphis, three tours of the USA including Buddy Guy’s Blues Club in Chicago, and years performing and recording with the Foreday Riders, the band Australian musicians call “the University of the Blues”. He also finished in the top eight at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis.
His latest album, Bound To Get The Blues, is his fifteenth. Recorded live to tape at Studios 301 in Sydney with a band that has played together for twenty years, it is a gritty blues rock record built around seven Beadle originals. In Ray’s words: “We set out to do straight blues rock, tough Texas style.”
Albert King is the influence Ray names most often, and you will hear Texas, Chicago and jump blues in his playing. Fans of the Fabulous Thunderbirds, Gary Clark Jr and Doyle Bramhall II will feel right at home.
