Bring It On Home comes to The Old Brewery Store, Faversham on Thursday 21 January 2027 — a rare live outing for one of the most acclaimed acoustic blues projects to come out of Britain’s roots scene in recent years. Three of the finest fingerstyle guitarists in the country share one stage for an intimate evening of acoustic Folk, Blues and Rhythm & Blues, built entirely around the finger-picked guitar. If you love your blues stripped back, honest and played by people who really know the instrument, this is unmissable.
Bring It On Home began as a project to celebrate fingerstyle acoustic guitar on the British roots scene today. It has since spawned an album of exclusive recordings by nine musicians performing early 20th century songs, and a film telling their stories. Now, it becomes a bespoke live show — bringing some of those musicians together in person for an evening built entirely around acoustic Folk, Blues and Rhythm & Blues guitar.
The album has picked up glowing reviews across the music press and repeat plays on BBC 6Music’s Cerys Matthews show, and this Faversham date offers a genuinely rare chance to hear the songs, and the stories behind them, performed live and up close.
A long-standing guitar tutor and mentor to many, Chris has featured in several guitar magazines and authored a guitar book outlining his unique system for playing blues guitar. He runs his own big band, performing instrumental Blues, Jazz and Swing R&B to large audiences across Europe, and has played sell-out shows at the Pizza Express Live venues in London.
Known for his acclaimed one-man-band act — a unique blend of deep blues, comedy and rock & roll — Andy is a regular at clubs and festivals across the UK. His distinctive style has been seen and heard at Glastonbury Festival, on BBC Radio 2 and Channel 4. He is a guitarist for Dana Gillespie, and one half of Nothing In Rambling with Sister Suzie, an act celebrating the music of the 1920s and ’30s and championing artists like Memphis Minnie.
RnR Magazine called his 2025 album Slim Pickin’ “a true nugget of acoustic folk blues… all ten tracks represent 21st century blues of the highest order.” Oli wrote two new songs especially for the Bring It On Home project. A four-time UK Blues Award winner performing as Mississippi MacDonald, he has played alongside Hi Rhythm, Carla Thomas, William Bell, Taj Mahal and Eric Gales as part of the Take Me To The River All Stars, and has recorded with Vaneese Thomas and Benny Turner (Freddie King’s brother).
With its industrial charm, vaulted ceilings, and a character no purpose-built venue can replicate, The Old Brewery Store provides the perfect atmospheric backdrop for a night like this.
With a capacity of 250, the room strikes that rare balance between grand and intimate — big enough to create real atmosphere, small enough that you’re never far from the stage. Whether you’re at the front or grabbing a pint of locally brewed Shepherd Neame at the bar, you’re guaranteed an immersive experience in one of Kent’s most unique live music spaces — and one of the very best for live music in Faversham.
