The rooms where it happens — and the stages that got us here

A great show starts with the right room. Since 2015, Rockin' Roots Events has been finding the live music venues in Kent where blues, rock, roots and soul actually work — proper stages, proper sound, and audiences that show up to listen.
From a converted brewery store in Faversham to a soul café on the Margate seafront, these are the rooms we work with today — and below them, every stage across Kent and beyond that's been part of the story since our first night in Sittingbourne.
These are the rooms we call home — stages we return to again and again because the spaces, the audiences, and the atmosphere are exactly right.
250 capacity · Shepherd Neame Brewery
Our flagship stage — a converted brewery store within Shepherd Neame, Britain's oldest brewery, in the heart of Faversham's medieval town centre. Outstanding atmosphere and an audience that shows up to listen. This is where we bring the artists we're most excited about.
Shows in Faversham →Two rooms · next to Rainham station
The Oast gives Medway a proper blues and rock room — an intimate 90-capacity space downstairs and a 160-capacity top room, right next to Rainham station. We bring touring artists here who deserve a listening room rather than a bar backdrop.
Shows in Medway →Seated theatre · Bromley Blues Club
In partnership with Oli Mississippi MacDonald as Bromley Blues Club, we bring the best of the blues to South London's doorstep at Bromley Little Theatre — a seated venue where the music takes centre stage.
Shows in Bromley →The map is growing eastward. Two rooms on the Kent coast now carry the Rockin' Roots sound — with touring artists already announced at both.
Margate old town · King Street
One of the Thanet coast's best-loved independent rooms — a soul café in Margate old town with a reputation for putting the music first. We're now bringing touring blues and roots artists to its stage.
Shows in Margate →350 capacity · Alpha Road
Birchington Village Centre — a well-appointed 350-capacity room in the heart of Thanet. One of the biggest spaces on our circuit, now hosting international touring bands.
Shows in Birchington →Over more than a decade, Rockin' Roots Events has put great music on stages right across our home county — some one-offs, some occasional, all part of the story. We've even ventured just beyond the border: Bromley and Penge both sit on the historic Kent boundary, and the audiences there are every bit as passionate.
Our very first shows — under the Bourne To The Blues name — took place at the Ypres Tavern in Sittingbourne in 2015. Every promoter has an origin story. This is ours.
The Appleyard in Sittingbourne was home to The Bourne Music Club — the direct forerunner of Rockin' Roots Events. It's where the concept was proven and the audience began to grow.
A landmark show at the Kings Hall saw Robert Jon & The Wreck sell out this iconic Herne Bay venue — the biggest crowd Rockin' Roots Events has ever put through the door. Herne Bay has an appetite for this music and we haven't forgotten it.
Folkestone's Quarterhouse in Kent. We have been fortunate to sell this venue out in Folkestone twice.
East Quay sits right on Whitstable harbour — one of the most distinctive live music settings in Kent. Blues by the sea, done properly.
Faversham's Arden Theatre provided a more intimate seated setting for select shows — proof that the town can support multiple live music formats and audiences.
The Old Dairy Taproom in Tenterden is a characterful craft beer venue serving an exceptional range of ales — and the home of our Tenterden Rhythm & Blues Revue.
Penge sits right on the historic Kent border, and the Southey Brewery is our most intimate occasional location — up close and personal with a solo or duo performance, with a limited capacity of just 34.
Every act. Every stage. Every year. From the Ypres Tavern in Sittingbourne to the Old Brewery Store in Faversham — a complete record of over a decade of live music in Kent by Rockin’ Roots Events.
Rockin' Roots Events is independently run, artist-led, and built on a simple belief: great music deserves a great room. These are the live music venues in Kent we're proud to call home — and somewhere among them there's a show worth travelling for.
Independent Kent live music promoter since 2015 — blues, rock, roots & soul.
