Alex Hamilton Band — Scottish Blues-Rock at Its Finest

Alex Hamilton has been one of the most quietly compelling figures on the British blues-rock circuit for over a decade. Born in Scotland and raised on the music of Robben Ford, Matt Scofield, and the great American blues tradition, he developed a guitar technique that is immediately distinctive — tasteful, subtle, deeply soulful, and technically extraordinary. His debut album, released when he was just eighteen, won the Scottish New Music Award in 2011. His subsequent albums have all been nominated for the British Blues Awards, several years running. He has toured dozens of venues across Britain and extensively across Europe, regularly selling out theatres and music clubs, and has shared stages with Carl Verheyen, Robert Cray, Aynsley Lister, Henrik Freischlader, and King King. Over 700 shows. Multiple award nominations. A guitarist that other guitarists talk about.

A Power Trio Built for the Stage

The Alex Hamilton Band is Alex on guitar and vocals, his father Nick Hamilton on bass, and Ian Beestin on drums — a trio that has been road-tested across hundreds of venues and built into something genuinely formidable. There is a chemistry here that only comes from years of playing together, and a live energy that has been winning audiences from Yorkshire to the Netherlands and back again. The Oast’s intimate top room is exactly the right setting to hear what this band can do — close enough to feel every note, small enough that nothing is lost.

An Evening Not to Be Missed

When Daniel Steinhardt of That Pedal Show — a man who has played and reviewed more guitars than almost anyone on the planet — says someone exudes soul and calls himself a big fan, you pay attention. Alex Hamilton has been quietly building one of the most respected reputations on the British blues-rock circuit for over a decade, and The Oast on a Friday night in September is exactly the kind of room where a guitarist of this calibre can really let the music breathe.

Intimate. Focused. Limited capacity. Blues guitar Rainham Kent at its very best. Friday 25th September — get your tickets before they go.

The Oast, Rainham Kent — A Venue With a Story

The Oast is one of Rainham’s most iconic buildings — constructed in the early 1870s by the Wakeley Brothers, it has overlooked Rainham station for over a century. Originally built for drying hops, it was saved from sale in the 1970s and converted into a thriving community centre run entirely by volunteers. That history gives the place a character that purpose-built venues simply can’t manufacture — exposed brickwork, a sense of occasion, and the kind of intimate atmosphere that puts you right in the room with the music. The venue sits directly adjacent to Rainham Station with parking at the rear — easy to get to, easy to get home from. This event will be held in the top room of The Oast, Rainham, Kent.
